Founded in London on June 23rd 1992, we explore the science and art of sexual magick, wider occultism and ecstatic witchcraft. Our aim is a life filled with inner and outer liberation, deep learning, raw emotion and spiritual transcendence and empowerment.

The current form of The Dionysus Group is the result of decades of magickal exploration in a range of areas, but most importantly the sexual aspects of magick. Dionysus was chosen in 1992 as an archetype of both ecstasy and sexual liberation. These areas are still key to us today, yet the archetypes and forms we now work with have expanded far beyond our original ideas decades ago.

We draw upon BDSM as well as magickal traditions including ecstatic and traditional English Witchcraft, Thelema, Seiðr, Maausk, Zos Kia and Chaos Magick.

We are practising magickians with a focus on total freedom and liberation spiritually and physically. We work together for mutual benefit, but are all individual magickians with strong personal visions. Beyond the magickal traditions we are inspired by all those who would use the power of the intellect to step beyond the limitations of society and conventional thinking. Therefore politically we are anarchistic in outlook.

Our work stands in opposition to authoritarianism, racism, non-human animal abuse, sex negativity, and environmental destruction.
